GILMER–115th District Judge Lauren Parish sentenced 12 persons between Oct. 2 and 8 after all pleaded guilty to felony charges, said Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd’s office.
Details were as follows, the office said:
Kevin Ramon Erwin, 41, of Hawkins, drew 8 years in prison Oct. 2 after pleading guilty Aug. 13 to possession of a controlled substance–one gram or more but less than four grams–with intent to deliver heroin. The crime occurred May 30, 2017.
Jakysia Shianne Rodgers, 25, of Pittsburg, was placed on 10 years “deferred adjudication” probation Oct. 5 for a March 20, 2017 aggravated robbery. “Deferred adjudication” means no final conviction appears on his record if he successfully completes probation.
James Earl Hill, 43, of Gilmer, was placed on 10 years deferred adjudication probation Oct. 5 for indecency with a child. The offense occurred Dec.15, 2016 and one term of probation is that Hill must register as a sex offender.
Gilmer resident Tony Daniel Gross, who turns 36 Oct. 18, drew concurrent terms of 5 years deferred adjudication probation each Oct. 5 for two counts of burglary of a building.
The crimes occurred Aug. 23, 2017 and Dec. 10, 2017.
Jon Cody Orrell, 40, of Longview, was placed on 5 years deferred adjudication probation Oct. 5 for theft of property of the value of $2,500 or more but less than $30,000. The offense occurred Oct. 11, 2016.
Ryan Alan Gilbreath, 36, of Pickton, drew 18 months in state jail Oct. 5 for driving while intoxicated with child passenger on Dec. 8, 2017.
Anthony Quinn Davis, 57, of Gilmer, drew two concurrent 5-year prison terms Oct. 5 for tampering with physical evidence and forgery. The latter occurred last May 9, and the forgery occurred April 28.
Dana Christine Bullington, 41, of Gilmer, received 7 years in prison Oct. 5 for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon. The crime occurred last Nov. 4.
Samuel Burt McLeroy, 53, of Del Valle, received 25 years in prison Oct. 5 as a habitual offender for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon. That offense occurred last Nov. 25.
Karl Nicholas Chapman, 37, of Longview, drew 8 years in prison Oct. 5 for evading arrest/detention with previous conviction–repeat offender. The offense occurred last Oct. 24.
Shanice RC Craine, 29, of Gilmer, was placed on concurrent terms of 5 years deferred adjudication probation each Oct. 8 on two counts of abandoning or endangering child, both of which occurred Oct. 3, 2016.
David Richard Allen Jr., 53, of Gilmer, drew concurrent terms of incarceration Oct. 8 for two drug-related offenses.
He received 7 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance–four grams or more but less than 200 grams of methamphetamine on Oct. 8, 2017, and 2 years in state jail for delivery of a controlled substance–less than one gram of methamphetamine last April 24.
