The 27th Big Sandy All-School Reunion was a well-attended with approximately one hundred meeting at Big Sandy School Student Center and Cafeteria. It’s always fun to catch up with old friends and share memories. The food was excellent- prepared by BSHS grads Mike and Stephanie Hill of Longhorn Smokehouse. Superintendent Jay Ratcliff welcomed the group after Rickey Caughron, Lay-pastor of Sit’em Down Cowboy Church asked God’s blessings on the event. Honored guests, the Class of 1967 was celebrating their 50th anniversary. Former teachers and school board members were recognized.
After lunch, door prizes were awarded along with some special recognitions. Frank Haynes and Geraldine Blackstone were deemed to have traveled the greatest distance. Oldest male and female ex-students were Billy Blackstone (89) and Alma Fitzgerald (99). Mary Lynn Gorman and Mary Lingle work very hard to organize this annual event, so be certain to thank them.
