To Whom it may concern,

I keep getting the question, “Am I going to rebuild?”

Let me start off by saying that Richie’s is more than a restaurant. It was, is and will always be a way to help the community. It is a way for me to give back, and to “pay it forward” Last year alone, between the three restaurants, we were able to donate $9000.00 to help open Gideon’s men’s rehab in Winnsboro, Tx and help a family whose young son had leukemia. We were also able to help with the hurricane relief through donations and help from the community. We went to Houston twice with a packed van, both times. We support our local schools, churches, and sport programs for boys and girls. Anyone that knows Richie’s, knows that they can always get a hot meal and a friendly smile anytime. With that being said I would like to say that we have already received $850.00 so far this year and that money will be going to a family in Hawkins.

As for rebuilding and having the benefit this year in Hawkins, I would love to have the benefit but I can’t without the support and help from the community. My plan on re-opening and rebuilding is quite simply that I will leave that in God’s hands.  I believe that everything happens for a reason and God knows why he does what he does. But I also believe that he does not close a door without opening a window. Right now I am focused on trying to help my more than 20 employees find work. We are all still in shock but thankful that no one was hurt. Having said this, I believe that God does not want me to stop doing for the community and so I know that he has big plans for my future as Richie’s. So I will leave it to him to guide me into the future and I hope that he will allow me to continue to be a part of this wonderful community.

God will reveal all in due time.
