Hear ye! Hear ye! All citizens of Big Sandy and the surrounding villages! Come join us on Thursday, December 13th for the Annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. This lighted extravaganza will kick off at 6:30pm and take a different route from years past. Line up starts at 6pm on Pearl Street then the parade will travel west on East College Street taking a south-bound turn (that’s left to us directionally challenged folks) on to North Tyler Street (Hwy 155). Continuing down Tyler Street, through the red light, then another turn east at the intersection of Tyler and Gilmer Street, through downtown. After the parade, everyone will meet for the lighting of the Community Christmas tree between Austin Bank and the Post Office.

Floats with pretty ladies (and possibly a BEAST!), trucks and trailers loaded with kids and adults, golf carts with dogs, horses, police cars, fire trucks, and the award-winning WILDCAT BAND will be on hand. To participate, contact Carla Lucas at First National Bank. All are welcome…just remember to light up your entry!

Post-parade activities continue downtown beginning at the Community Center with the Big Sandy Wildcat Band Booster’s Annual Chili Supper. For a mere $5, you can enjoy fabulous homemade chili, fixin’s and a drink, and a as BONUS you’ll be supporting the Wildcat Band! It just doesn’t get any better!

And if you’re still hungry or just need a little something sweet and warm, wander across the street to the Heritage Center where you can enjoy cookies and hot chocolate sponsored by the BSHS Spanish Club.

Come early and stake out a good spot for parade viewing. This is a great time to visit with friends and enjoying the beauty of the season.
