With the start of another school year the LOVE BIG SANDY PROJECT is at it again… The month of September the food pantry within the Love BS Project will have handed out 1020 snacks and 1236 meals to students at Big Sandy ISD signed up for the Buddy Bundle program. The Buddy Bundle program provides meals to those students that may need weekend food assistance. These bundles consist of three meals per day along with two snacks and additional snacks for weekday afternoons.

This program requires a lot of hard work and dedication making drop off day a success.

Recently the Big Sandy High School Cheerleaders and several other High School students volunteered their time to come help unload and organize food boxes.

Most may not know the Love BS Project was recently recognized as the largest food pantry in Upshur County. Every third Thursday of the month from 3-5PM the building at 804 West Broadway opens its doors to those families in need. Last week 151 families consisting of 540 people during our monthly family distribution were served!

The nonprofit organization is always in need of volunteers. We believe that by giving back and participating in hands on projects, we can have a lasting positive impact on our community! If you have any interest in being a volunteer or helping out with donations please contact Wanda Bunn at 903-812-0606, Britney McCleveland at  903-374-5471 or Will Brahic at 903-480-1986.

The Love BS Project offers volunteer hours to students in need and gives a scholarship to a deserving senior each year.
