Fried fish with all the trimmings, door prizes, and a lively auction was the hot ticket in Big Sandy Saturday night. The Ag Department was packed with folks eating, visiting, and waiting for auctioneer Anthony Betterton and assistant, Morgan Lauby to start the main event. Many items were donated by generous businesses and individuals, but the real prizes were made by the students. Fire pits (one sold for $400!), wood racks, benches, really cool picnic tables, and the high-bid item of the night…a bright red trailer bringing $900.

It was also announced that the Livestock Judging Team of Keaton Combs, Madison Blood, Morgan Lauby, and Kaitlyn Abraio will be representing Big Sandy in State competition next weekend.

Money raised from this event goes to the Big Sandy FFA to help send kids to leadership camp, banquet awards, contest entries, community service activities, Greenhand camp, District Officer jackets, travel expenses, and Yamboree supplies. These kids not only work very hard on these projects, they are extremely talented. Thanks to all who made this event fun!
