Swings made by BSHS FFA students.

It’s a Springtime tradition in Big Sandy – the FFA fish fry and auction – and lots of folks turned out Saturday. The food is always good and you have an opportunity to buy some really great items…plus help your local FFA. Auctioneer-extraordanire, Anthony Betterton, brings his own special flair to the main attraction and can coax extra money from even the most frugal of bidders! Items including plants, purses, gift baskets, homemade salsa, gift cards, were bought. The highlight items (and most profitable) were those built by the students. Firewood racks, swings, fire pits, and picnic tables were snapped up quickly. We have some very talented kids at BSHS. And the silent-bid cake auction raised more than $300.

Thank you to all the local businesses and individuals who contributed cakes and other items for the auction. It’s important we support our local schools and encourage the kids.
