As was the fashion several years ago, we all participated in progressive dinner parties: starting at one house for appetizers, the next had salads, then to the next for the entrée, and the last one for desserts. Well, think of the Big Sandy Ministerial Alliance Annual Christmas Walk as a “progressive dinner party with food for the soul.”
Each church visited offers something different…songs of praise for the season, scripture readings, sometimes skits featuring little kids, or maybe a brief message. All held in different buildings, but all celebrating the same event: the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Big Sandy is blessed with many churches and each year these churches come together, worship together, pray together. No matter what the sign reads outside the building, inside we are ‘one with God.’
This year’s “Christmas Walk” will be on Monday, December 17th – 6:30pm. Beginning at First Baptist Church on Hwy 155 North, then progressing to Solid Rock Refuge, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, First United Methodist, Gospel Lighthouse, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, and ending at Sit’em Down Cowboy Church. Refreshments will be served at Sit’em Down. Come join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!
