The Fifth Sunday Disciples Women’s message was given by Reverend Margaret Dixson. Her messsage “Take A Stand and Seek Justice” was taken from Exodus 22:21, Luke 18:1-5 and Isaiah 1:13. “The Women Of the Bible Seeking Justice” is this year’s statewide Disciples Women theme. Sister Mary Morgan, Vice-President of Disciples Women (First Christian), served capably as worship leader. All of the women took part in the service. Palm Sunday was emphasized throughout worship. Our young people are making preparations for their gala Easter next Sunday. Following worship, there will be an Easter egg hunt. Although our church is not having sunrise service this year, members would like to plan to attend another in the community. Our visitors were welcomed by the congregation. Prayers for the sick, shut in and the bereaved in the community were given.

It was wonderful to receive a letter indicating Elder Holt has been commissioned for another year of ministry.

Sunday afternoon at 3:30, Fifth Sunday Fellowship was held at Center Point Christian Church (Greenville) – Reverend Derry Henry, Pastor. Churches in the district participated in songs of fellowship. (Note: Last week’s article incorrectly indicated Shady Grove (Cason) as the location.

COMING UP: April 11th, a State Disciples Women’s Workshop will be held in Corsicana at Thirteenth Street Christian Church. Sisters in Christ are urged to attend. Our Annual Spring Musical will be held Saturday, April 18th at 6:30 p.m. Several groups will be performing. All are invited to come and be lifted up through music. TCMF – excitement is growing in anticipation of its annual meeting in Houston in July.
