Alisha Taylor scored 18 points, helping Hawkins notch a 40-32 victory over Ore City on Tuesday.   Hawkins Lady Hawks Varsity secured their lead in the third quarter on a free throw from Taylor.
Hawkins trailed early, 21-18 by the half, only to come back strong in the final two quarters. Hawkins gained on their opponent late in the game, scoring a game-high 12 points in the third quarter.
Taylor sunk the most shots during the fourth period, earning eight points for Hawkins Lady Hawks Varsity.
Bre Lemons made it into double digits, scoring 11 points for Hawkins (5-for-17). Also chipping in for Hawkins were Kalyn Wesley (6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals), Madison Staruska (3 points, 1 steal) and Breanne Griffith (2 points, 1 steal). Lemons was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up 13 rebounds and two steals.
