Hawkins new Athletic Director, Scott Evans

Hawkins ISD is pleased to welcome a Hawkins resident and Hawkins Elementary parent home to serve as the new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach. Scott Evans has coached football for 16 years, 3 of those years as Athletic Director. Currently, Mr. Evans serves as Principal of Arp Elementary School and coaches varsity running backs during football season. He is a talented math teacher who made a lasting impression on his students when he taught at Hawkins Middle School during the 14-15 school year. His coaching career began in 2001 at Burton ISD. In August of 2003 Scott went to Winona ISD where he began coaching track and cross country. In 2011 he became the Head Football Coach/Athletic director.

Mr. Evans brings a philosophy of building a total program for all athletes where hard work and good character go hand in hand. His system recognizes the importance of the Middle School program in developing future varsity athletes. A combination of strength, agility and conditioning as a foundation and individual sport skills development is designed to maximize the potential of every athlete. Hawks are likely to see Mr. Evans in the near future at athletic events. Please join us in extending a Hawk welcome to him when you do.
