Wellness series offered by Upshur County Extension Office

Stress. Cancer. Stroke. Scary, right? And getting information from the internet can be even scarier. Julie York, Upshur County Extension Agent, is offering a series of discussions on these topics at the Heritage Center in Big Sandy.

Beginning with “Stress – Friend or Foe?” on March 7th, and continuing with “Know More About Cancer” on March 28th, “Act Fast to Prevent a Stroke” on May 2nd, and ending on May 30th with “Stress Less: Mind Matters,” these one-hour sessions will give you essential information and allow for informal discussion. (for more details, see next week’s edition of The Journal)

All sessions are from 6-7pm at the Heritage Center in Big Sandy located at 162 East Gilmer Street (next door to the Fire Station). The Big Sandy Chamber of Commerce is co-sponsor of this event and will be providing refreshments. For reservations, contact Heritage Center Event Coordinator Anna McIver at or 903-705-3708.
