The Kilgore College Chorale and the KC Connection will present, “I Sing Because…,” featuring a mixture of sacred and secular pieces.
Set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at First Baptist Church of Kilgore, the concert is free and open to the public.
During the concert, KC Chorale members will perform works by Rene Clausen, Philip Stopford and others.
Vocal soloists will include Alexis Chandler and Khadejah Colbert, both of Longview.
The KC Chorale is the principal choral ensemble at KC and is open by audition to both music majors and non-music majors. The group tours annually and most recently performed a concert tour in April in New Orleans, La.
KC Connection is Kilgore College’s newest ensemble and is an all-women’s pop a cappella group.
They will perform timeless pop favorites such as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and sacred pieces such as ‘Beautiful Savior.”
KC Connection members include Alexis Chandler of Longview, Julia Fulgham of Kilgore, Tori Hill of Longview, Haley Hinton of Kilgore and Georgia Shelton of Kilgore.
The KC Chorale and KC Connection are accompanied by Jonathan Kaan, instructor of music.
