AUSTIN – Clemente Davila, 27, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, is now in custody after being arrested Wednesday morning in Houston. Davila was wanted for failure to comply with sex offender requirements, failure to appear and probation violation.
Following investigative leads, officers located Davila at a Houston residence at approximately 7:30 a.m., where he was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. This arrest was not the result of a Crime Stoppers tip, and no reward will be paid. So far in 2014, DPS and other agencies have arrested 11 Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives, including five sex offenders and four gang members, and $34,500 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.
To be eligible for the cash rewards, anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:
- Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
- Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
- Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook messages are anonymous.
