Nov. 11, at approximately 8:00 PM, Troopers responded to a vehicle / pedestrian fatal crash on Hwy-155 S. near FM-2661 in Smith County.  Preliminary information identified the driver of a 2012 Nissan Versa, Aaron-Nicole Rodriquez, 32, of Frankston was traveling on Hwy-155 S. when she struck a pedestrian that may have been attempting to remove debris in the roadway.  The pedestrian has been identified as Michael Timothy McClure, 65, of Palestine.  McClure was pronounced at the scene by Judge Alfred and transported to Rhone Funeral Home in Palestine.  The crash remains under investigation.

At approximately 1:00 PM, Troopers responded to a two vehicle fatal crash on Loop-49 at FM-2493.  Preliminary crash reports indicate that the driver of a 2017 GMC Denali, Valerie Miller, 34, of Arp was traveling westbound on Loop-49 when for an undetermined reason, crossed over into the eastbound lane of traffic where she struck a 2008 Ford Escape driven by  William Pritchard, 29, of Tyler.  Pritchard was transported to UT Health – Tyler in serious condition.  Miller was also transported to UT Health – Tyler in serious condition.  There were four juveniles in Millers vehicle, one 9 year-old female,  Leah Miller, 9, of Arp, was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Meredith and transported to Lighthouse Professional Mortuary in Tyler.  Additional juveniles involved include a 10, 8 and 4 year-old females, all transported to UT Health – Tyler in serious conditions. All occupants were restrained. The crash remains under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.

At approximately 4:39 PM Nov, 12th, Troopers responded to a fatal crash on Mackey Road near the city of Longview in Gregg County.  Preliminary crash reporting indicates that the driver of a 2005 Nissan Altima, Cole Canton Small, 19, of Marshall was traveling south on Mackey Road and had just crested a hill when he swerved to avoid a northbound vehicle that was turning left onto a county road.  The Nissan left the wet roadway to the south and struck a power pole on the drivers side of the vehicle.  Small was pronounced at the scene by Judge Jameson and transported to Welch’s Funeral Home in Longview.  A passenger in the vehicle, Thorpe Shannon Young, 20, of Henderson was injured in the crash.  He was transported to Good Shepard Medical Center – Longview in stable condition.
