GILMER–Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will hold an Upshur County Pond Clinic outside a home in the Union Ridge area near Gilmer on Thursday, May 14.
Dr. Billy Higginbotham, a professor and extension wildlife and fisheries specialist, will present information on water quality, aquatic weed control and fish population management. The event is set at a pond behind H.J. Atchley’s home, 878 FM Road 593, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration fee is $15. The location is east of U.S. 271, behind the Midway truck stop.
Those attending should watch for signs, and anyone requiring seating should bring a chair.
Attendees will receive two continuing education units for a Texas Department of Agriculture private applicator license–one general, and one for integrated pest management, said Shaniqua Davis, Upshur County extension agent for agriculture.
