September 27th

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:51 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2359 near Mineola, at approximately 5:14 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Upon the deputies’ arrival, they noticed damage to a window. The owner of the house was notified and did not wish to press charges.

Deputies responded to a reckless driver on CR 2345 near Mineola; at approximately 10:01 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2290 near Mineola, at approximately 12:44 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4495 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:03 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. A known actor damaged the front door of the reporting party’s residence.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3235 near Quitman, at approximately 4:45 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s building and stole several items.

At 4:51 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3984 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1739 near Yantis, at approximately 6:51 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies located the individuals and cleared the scene.

At 7:34 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2332 near Mineola.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 2225 near Quitman; at approximately 8:14 p.m. Deputies located the individual and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 514 near Yantis, at approximately 8:32 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3114 near Quitman, at approximately 10:18 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

September 28th

At 1:22 a.m., donkeys were reported out on HWY 80/CR 2740.

Deputies were dispatched to Sioux near Quitman, at approximately 8:29 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individuals and everything was OK.

At 9:24 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.

At 9:27 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 182 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8695 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:51 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:07 a.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on CR 4960 near Quitman. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:49 a.m., in reference to threats being made on CR 4570 near Winnsboro. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 10:53 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5807 near Yantis, at approximately 12:05 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 52, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and ordered an autopsy.

Deputies were dispatched o CR 1684 near Alba, at approximately 1:53 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a firearm from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 4:03 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1360 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 4:45 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

At 6:28 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1122 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2320 near Mineola, at approximately 10:33 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

September 29th

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:54 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5218 near Quitman, at approximately 6:17 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 9:15 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 9:27 a.m., in reference to a theft of property that occurred on FM 2225 near Quitman. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8565 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:17 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village near Quitman, at approximately 1:11 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individuals.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4980 near Winnsboro; at approximately 1:14 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle, but could not locate the owner or the owner of the property the vehicle was on.

At 3:35 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 2966 near Hawkins.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1941 near Yantis, at approximately 7:12 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:31 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Michael Blalock, 56, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Criminal Trespass with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Mischief.

At 8:40 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1416 near Quitman, at approximately 8:55 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2176 near Quitman, at approximately 11:45 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

September 30th

At 12:46 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 2088 near Quitman.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Richards St. in Quitman, at approximately 1:15 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 3540 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:41 a.m. Ryan Madden, 33, of Holly Lake, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated-2nd offense.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3495 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:37 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to CR 2275 near Mineola; at approximately 12:18 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2980 near Mineola, at approximately 1:15 p.m. The vehicle left, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4390 near Leesburg, at approximately 4:42 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. The actor left the area, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook; at approximately 6:42 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 515 near Winnsboro; at approximately 7:55 p.m. Deputies located the individual and cleared the scene.

October 1st

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 1681 near Alba, at approximately 1:33 a.m. Tony Williams, 60 of Alba, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 7:54 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to Broad St. in Mineola; at approximately 10:29 a.m. Juan Antonio Gonzalez, 39, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4596 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:23 p.m., in reference to a Burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged a door and stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:54 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred on CR 3598 near Winnsboro. Incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to Johnson Lane near Yantis, at approximately 4:58 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and EMS transported him to the hospital.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 6:49 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. A known actor broke a window on the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

October 2nd

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2376 near Alba, at approximately 7:35 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and it was towed.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:16 a.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 2298 near Mineola. Incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5556 near Alba, at approximately 11:14 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a firearm from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2146 near Quitman, at approximately 12:12 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:19 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deidra Canales, 39, of Hawkins, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:51 p.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on FM 2088 near Winnsboro. Incident was cleared.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:10 p.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on PR 8577 near Winnsboro. Incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2425 near Quitman, at approximately 3:48 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1997 near Yantis, at approximately 7:07 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1503 near Alba, at approximately 7:39 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4471 near Winnsboro; at approximately 11:03 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the scene.

October 3rd

Deputies responded to a reckless driver on Main St. in Quitman; at approximately 12:25 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 8:52 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 2774 near Mineola.

At 1:43 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:04 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief that occurred on CR 4255 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088/FM 2869 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:39 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1660 near Alba, at approximately 11:12 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Between the dates of September 27th and October 3rd, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Police Departments, Emergency Medical Services, Child Protective Services, Department of Public Safety, Air 1, and Quitman Fire Department.

Total Jail Count – 141 inmates – 117 males and 24 females.
